About this guide
CLT Explorer is an informal, fun visitors guide to Charlotte, North Carolina — written like a local friend showing you around, built like a reference you can trust. Every place listed is real, every fact carries a source, and every source is cited on the page where the fact appears.
We are independent and unaffiliated. This guide is not associated with the City of Charlotte, the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority, charlottesgotalot.com, CATS, or any business listed here. Nobody pays to be included, and paid placements never affect what we say — sponsorships are always labeled, and our safety, accessibility, and heritage pages carry no ads at all.
Details in a growing city change fast — Charlotte's restaurants turn over quicker than its skyline. We verify on a published schedule (see the Colophon for our methodology and full bibliography), and we mark what we haven't confirmed rather than guessing — but always verify before you go.
Own a listed business and spot an error, or want something corrected or removed? Email corrections@clt.theperfectship.com — we answer within five business days.
Start exploring: the map, a guided tour, the history layer, or what's happening today. Telling a friend in person? Pull up a QR code they can scan off your phone.
None of it needs an account — the guide and the whole River Rocks game save right in your browser. If you'd like one anyway (accounts are for ages 13 and up, and add photo and review posting plus syncing between devices), you can sign in here.
