    In 1919 tobacco and power magnate James B. Duke bought the 1915 Taylor House on Hermitage Road overlooking Edgehill Park and had architect C. C. Hook triple it in size into the 52-room Duke Mansion, Myers Park's architectural centerpiece.

  2. 1928

    By 1928 the City of Charlotte had annexed virtually all of Myers Park, and that year the neighborhood received its own C. C. Hook-designed public elementary school on Radcliffe Avenue.
