The take
Everything else on Yancey Road exists because this place proved Charlotte would drink lagers under the trees. It started on Southside Drive before moving here — now the giant brauhaus is the district's center of gravity.
What to order: Copper is the flagship — the Düsseldorf-style altbier the whole brewery was built on. We briefly said Captain Jack; my brother from Charlotte set us straight.
